This concert features a live performance by electronic artist ka lok
ka lok (家 樂 (ka lok) 将 以 声 音 的 海 啸, 以 及 思 母 之 情, 为 众 人 受 洗 ) will baptize all with a tsunami of sound, and feelings of missing their own mother.
ka lok is an electronic artist from Regina, Saskatchewan, Treaty 4. Within his nonconforming sound is a landscape of unrelenting synths, wailing brass, and haunting vocals, all anchored by a sea of tectonic low ends. Listening is akin to standing atop a massive, being shifting beneath the Earth’s crust. In Opium Boy, ka lok explores the visceral friction between pleasing others and isolation, the seeming necessity of suffering, and the beauty found in learning to let go.
Enjoy live music on the main floor! Everyone is welcome.
