A cheerful local guide to spring brunch in Saskatoon and Regina, highlighting must-visit spots, what to expect for wait times and pricing, and standout menu picks. It’s all about soaking up the season with good food, great company, and the occasional mimosa.
While brunch is technically around all year long, it really shines in the spring! There’s just something about seeing your favourite flowers begin to bloom as the snow finally melts that makes you want to gather up your friends and go for brunch on a Sunday morning! I don’t make the rules, I just follow them, especially when they lead to mimosas!
Here’s a local guide for the best places to get brunch in both Saskatoon and Regina, complete with price ranges, wait time expectations, and food recommendations.
Saskatoon has the highest number of restaurants in Saskatchewan, making it the de facto number one brunch spot. Here are a few of my favourites:

Price range: $$-$$$
Wait times: While they don’t accept reservations ahead of time, you can add your name and number to the list once you arrive, and the staff will text you when a table is open. In my experience, it’s typically a 15-30 minute wait. If you want to avoid any wait time, I suggest arriving first thing, they open at 8 am, or between 12-2 pm, when they close. If you’re okay with a little wait, though, there’s some great shops along 20th to check out while your table is pending!
Why people love it: It’s your local diner with an earthy vibe. Live hanging plants help to set the atmosphere apart and get you ready for the main event, the food! It’s seriously incredible.
Recommendation: If you’re looking for something a little outside the norm, they make a mean fried chicken & pancakes. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!
P.S. Don’t forget to grab a fresh homemade donut on the way out as an extra treat.

Price range: $$-$$$
Wait times: Here you’ll find a waitlist to join online, but only 15-20 minutes before your arrival. My best tip is to keep an eye on the wait list and plan your arrival accordingly.
Why people love it: You can never go wrong with brunch and a view, and this spot has one of the best views in town. Sitting right on the Saskatchewan River, you can enjoy all of the beauty Saskatoon has to offer while sipping your mimosa!
Recommendation: Famous for their poutine breakfast bowls for a reason. Who doesn’t love the excuse to eat poutine for breakfast? Make the most of your brunch with a mimosas flight to wash it all down!
Price range: $$-$$$
Wait times: No reservations ahead of time means expect a bit during peak brunch times, usually around 10 - 12 pm. Wait times can be around 60 minutes here, as the space is smaller, but the staff is great and will seat you at the bar if available to help get your order started.
Why people love it: You basically get two restaurants in one here. Poached by morning, Flint by night, and nestled right in the heart of downtown. It looks like a tight space, but that’s just part of its charm! Boasting raw brick walls, there’s no cozier space to eat your delicious brunch and catch up with friends.
Recommendation: Poached over crab & shrimp risotto cakes. Truly the perfect blend of breakfast and lunch!
Brunch Tip: Can’t decide on which place to go? Why not hit up all three and make it a brunch-crawl! I recommend starting at Hometown Diner before making your way to Poached, and ending at OEB; that way, you can take in the river on your walk back!
Regina has some amazing hidden gems to satiate your brunch fix! Here are three you don’t want to skip out on:
Price range: $$-$$$
Wait times: While reservations aren’t accepted, wait times are typically pretty short. Expect around a 15-30 minute wait between 10 am and 1 pm. If you’re ot up for waiting, I suggest an early start to your day; they open at 8:30 am!
Why people love it: This bistro is award-winning and for good reason. They source local ingredients and never compromise on taste or service! The food is so good, this will become a staple in your eating-out rotation, guaranteed!
Recommendation: Eggs Benedict is a brunch staple for a reason, especially at Breakfast Bistro, since they have eight different options! I mean, lobster eggs benny? Say less, my mouth is already watering!

Price range: $$
Wait times: Wait times can depend on busyness, but are fairly minimal as you order at the counter, rather than a traditional sit-down breakfast.
Why people love it: Maybe the cutest café you’ll go to? It’s whimsical and just all around a delight. Combined with its tasty treats, what more could you want!?
Recommendation: With new specials available every week, my recommendation is simple: try something new. However, you can also never go wrong with a breakfast bowl!
*Two locations: Downtown & Normanview

Price range: $$-$$$
Wait times: Reservations are accepted, so make sure to take advantage, especially if you have a larger group!
Why people love it: Vic’s has that perfect pub feel with an elevated menu that never steers you wrong. It has the vibe of Cheers, where everybody knows your name. Just that good, local, cozy place to brighten your day!
Recommendation: Stuffed French toast. Seriously, need I say more?
No matter where you choose to brunch this season, Saskatoon and Regina will not disappoint. And remember, when in doubt, try something new or make it a brunch-crawl with friends! Happy brunching!
