Come learn about Regina’s history in a unique & interesting way with 5 different themed tours!
The July, August and September tours are every Friday, from 7-9pm. The October tours are on Sundays, from 4-6pm. See more details below!
JULY – Forgotten History Tour
On this tour, you’ll explore some of Regina’s lesser known or forgotten history by visiting the graves of people whose stories have been lost to the passage of time. This tour will also address the Regina Riot and subsequent record destruction, a famous female (alleged) murderer who dominated headlines during the 1950s, a man-made epidemic that left many children dead, and an infamous Freemason.
These tours will begin at 7pm on Jul 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th, and last approximately 90 minutes.
AUGUST – Historical Women of Regina Tour
August will feature a return of one of our most popular tours of 2024. Much of the city’s history books are dominated by men, but women had just as much importance in our history as men did. Come meet the women of Regina and learn about the doctors, educators, politicians, entrepreneurs, and mothers who made our city what it is today. This tour explores the stories of some of the women of Regina’s earliest days, from Catherine Sheldon-Williams, Rosie Schmidt, and a great story about Regina’s very first citizen.
These tours will begin at 7pm on Aug 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th, and last approximately 90 minutes.
SEPTEMBER – True Crime Tour
Last September, we hosted the “Murder and Mayhem Tour”, but this year we will be focusing strictly on True Crime only. These Are Not Happy Stories… Come learn the true stories of criminals and victims that dominated headlines during the 20th Century. These stories include love triangles gone wrong, police killings, executions, and rumors of witchcraft. Some of these stories may not be appropriate for children. Some September Tours take place in the dark. Please bring a flashlight!
These tours will begin at 7pm on Sept 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th, and last approximately 90 minutes.
OCTOBER – Pandemic Stories Tour
October’s tours will be about the pandemics that ravaged the city, from the famous Spanish Influenza of 1918-1920, to Smallpox, Typhoid, TB, and most recently, the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020-2023. Pandemics have always been a part of our city’s history, and thousands have perished because of them. Come learn about their stories, and learn their lessons, so that those mistakes of the past will never be repeated again. These October tours are on Sundays, not Fridays like the rest.
These tours will begin at 4pm on Oct 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th, and last approximately 90 minutes.
